Digital Satin Renders (OC)

Post by Hepburn »

Hey hey!

I've always had a crazy obsession for satin, and before Covid I dabbled in photography for a few years.

During lock-down I stumped up for a copy of DAZ3D so I could explore my passion with no risk (other than my overheating GPU...)

I was wondering if I could share a couple of photos of mine and some digital renders where I'm trying to create the best way satin can be shown off without it actually existing? I'd LOVE some feedback as satin is so incredibly difficult to render! (It's all about the lighting, kids! And also about a hundred other variables!) :D

If this isn't the place then please just let me know and I'll move on.

Best wishes to the community!

A few more of my favorite satin renders.

These are all great. But I will say the best-looking one is the teal one. I think the color adds to it and the way you did the shine effect. And that last one is almost perfect keep it up.

These look fab, you've got a real knack for photography. Love the last pic you posted. Wouldn't have thought she wasn't wearing satin!

Brilliant pics, I really love the grey blouses, there is something about grey satin that really shows off the shine at it's best, keep them coming.

The lighting is the hardest part. I've had some luck with lighting, but I still can't upload anything here.

Nice work!

Great work! I'm actually a professional CG Artist myself, and can speak from experience how difficult this sort of thing can be. If you'd be interested in any sort of collaboration on this drop me a PM and I'll shoot you over my portfolio (although I mostly work in architectural and interior design)
