I just spent a couple of days in Rome. The weather was sunny and warm and there was satin everywhere on the streets. Blouses, skirts, dresses, camisoles. A real feast of the eyes. I was with other people so I could not do my usual street fashion photography, but here is a photo of a typical satin skirt and another one of a graduating University student in a stunning pantsuit.
It is like all the women got a memo - "Go wear your satin today." It was not just young women either. Older women wore beautiful blouses and skirts. I have always felt that wearing satin is something intentional. I don't think a woman will just "throw on" a satin blouse because she needs a top. Wearing satin is making a statement. That statement requires thought and strategy. Are other people seeing more satin on the streets?
