The main visual property is of course the sheen, but there might be other properties (for example, the way satin shimmers under the sunlight). I'd have to vote for both equally on many reasons. Since I'm into pure silk satin/charmeuse, there are major factors in terms of it's visual and tactile properties that blend together in a major way for me. Biggest reason being is how silk flows and drapes, particularly within the wind.
