Sorry if this is not the place for this but i just wanted to say hello to everyone. Im Becca 19 from Hertfordshire in England.

I wouldnt say i have a fetish as such but i do love the feel of it. I was wondering, is a satin fetish more of a male thing? I mean my dad loves it, i mean really loves it, but ive never rreally met a woman that does.

Satin fetish does seem to be mainly a male thing. Lots of discussion why. The main thing is its a very feminine material and luxurious as well. I think that makes it taboo for men, and so we turn it into something arousing as it's forbidden fruit.

But we all agree that we love the sensation of it on our skin and the look of it. It means something different to everyone and the reason for our love of it comes from many different places too.

The fetish side is (almost) exclusively a 'male thing'; the term 'satin fetishism' at its literal meaning appears less likely in the fairer sex, from experience however both sexes of course can either like wearing satin or seeing others do likewise... and it can be sexual, too! When it becomes a prerequisite for completion of desire, then it is fetishism.

To complicate matters; my Wife doesn't mind wearing it - she likes that it makes me horny when she does! I don't need to be wearing it myself - I appreciate her in it, however as I am a cross-dresser who enjoys wearing satin (amongst other things) too, this means they are not mutually exclusive and can often be combined, ie my appreciation of her in satin, as a male, and then my need or desire to dress which may or not be a sexual desire!

I would not try and put anyone off, but a very common trick in the online fetish world is this.

Pretend to be a girl, and a guy will be more willing to share 'personal', 'explicit photos', or even 'money' in some cases.

So skepticism from me, who has seen this sad cycle so many times, is fully justified and not to be taken personally by any genuine female.

What I mean is, that for me, I've been on the fetish/internet scene for 20 years and a cross-dresser for almost 40 years, so I've kinda seen it all now.

It's good that you're open about it . I just know that some guys who have these fetish so rarely meet another female (if ever) that would indulge or share their fetish. So as soon as it looks like a female comes along, it fuels all those pent-up fantasies and they'd probably sign over their house to a female that agreed to let them dress up in the bedroom!

Of course, there are a lot of women out there who will indulge satin fantasies, but I've found most are 'participants' rather than 'instigators'.

Flickr is a good example - almost the only girls on there dressed in satin or other fetishes are all doing it with a boyfriend rather than on their own. same with most of the porn sites. very very very few girls seem to actually genuinely have the kind of satin fetish a guy might.

And nothing wrong with cross dressing either... some of the most feminine girls I've seen have been guys... lol
